Tuesday, March 11, 2008. In the last three we weeks we have also been involved in a photography project. Click on the sample image below if you would like to see more. This piece is one of my favourite pieces from the first week back. It is ES10 clay fired to 1260 with a black iorn oxide placed on top in powder form - not a wash. This is one of my first ideas for slabs -. Although i have sinced moved on to more expressive textural piceces, i find this one quite nice.

Tuesday, March 11, 2008. The plan for my work this year is to create a selection of abstract sculptural forms, based on modern architecture, using as a concept the economic boom in Ireland since 1995. I will study forms and textures found in modern architecture in Dublin city and its suburbs. I want my work to capture and reflect the energy and tension that is part of the present architectural revolution. I plan to incorporate new ceramic influences such as the work of Jun Kaneko.

Thursday, March 13, 2008. I have been researching into the memory in greater detail and it is fascinating what i have discovered about how we store our memories, it is very difficult to define what is fact and what is fiction. It was from this man that I got the concept for my degree show, i wish it base my work on my very own memories .
